The Role:
We are hiring thermal test engineers for our Reliability and Test Team, This person will develop and execute component and system level testing of our thermal system from concept through program release.
These testing will include characterization, reliability and durability testing. The primary objective of this role is to work with cross functional team to create test plan, develop automated test scripts using python, work with technicians and suppliers to fabricate fixture, run tests, post analyze test result, post process test results, root cause test failures, communicate findings with design team. A successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in understanding of coolant and refrigerant loops, hands on fabrication experience, experience with instrumentation and data collection, strong scripting skills.
Responsibilities:
Conduct hands-on component and system level R&D, characterization, Reliability, and durability testing Work directly with reliability and design engineers for test planning activities (test scheduling, prioritization, specifications etc. ) Develop test fixtures using CAD and work with in-house or external labs for fixture fabrication Develop automated test scripts for both in house testing and testing done by supplier Conduct detailed inspections such as torque checks, pressure and temperature analysis etc. to identify and root cause failures Post process test data and make detailed test reportsSetup local test capability technicallyBe involved with general test equipment maintenance and lab expansions Work in close collaboration with test technicians, instrumentation, reliability and design teamsWork with third party labs to coordinate and conduct testing Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Essential Skills:
Strong Thermal Engineering, python scripting, durability and testing fundamentals Experience in component and system level testing, preferred vehicle testing Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems Proven track record as a hands-on test engineer (test planning, development, execution, inspections, root cause analysis, data processing, report writing) Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines Excellent written & verbal communication skills Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detailConformable with CAD softwareExperience with CAN communication and analysis software
